Editorial-Inspired Music Album Photography in Central Park

Rose approached me earlier this year to collaborate on a series of four photoshoots that would capture the essence of the four seasonal songs she's releasing this year. Her first song, a winter release, was about Rest. Thus began our journey to create an editorial-inspired Music Album in Central Park.

We chose to have her making snow angels in the snow behind The Met. These photos I shot with a colder hue, while also using my flash gels and clear shower cap to vintagify the photos. We shot them at sunset so while the photos are colder, there is still a sunny warmth leaking through.

The impact of these winter photos is so lovely in contrast to the Spring photos we took, which are warmer, greener, looser, and brighter.

Spring was about reflection, growth, being chosen. And I think we captured just that.

We used the east side of Central Park as our backdrop and used the reflections of mirrors and the Model Boat Pond for these photos. The water was so still, it was easy to capture her reflection.

I loved getting to be creative with these and can't wait to see what we come up with for Summer and Autumn!

Shoutout to Rose for being vulnerable in front of the camera and willing to feel the lyrics she wrote so these images could really come to life.

Does this make you want to have your own editorial-inspired session?
