Can we all say it together? We are in love with these Romantic Connecticut Forest Elopement [photos] just a train ride away from NYC. Janelle and Ro rented an AirBnb for their romantic forest Elopement in Connecticut and it was a total honor to both photograph and film their intimate wedding.
These thoughtful brides got to really take their time getting ready. They had a cheese plate and wine with romantic wedding songs playing in the background. A slow unrushed start to a wedding ceremony is the way to go. They were so chill and ready to get married. It was really swee to quietly snap away while they got ready.
Their AirBnb was a loft and it was so special to get to photograph them getting ready in both the downstairs and the upstairs. I love how the light was flooding the upstairs as Janelle was doing her hair. In their wedding short film, my favorite shot is of Janelle doing her hair upstairs and Ro eating cheese downstairs. You can see them both at the same time. As an artist telling a story, I love the story of them both preparing for their ceremony in their own ways.
After their sunset ceremony, they walked through the forest-- and wow, I never knew couples portraits would be SO much more romantic with a river and a hammock, but WOW. If you ever wondered if an outdoor wedding is for you-- look at these hammock photos and tell me that doesn't look fun!
For these photos I used two digital cameras with cinematic filters on the lenses and a polaroid camera. If you've never seen my work, it's important for you to know that I pride myself on editing photos in both a cinematic moody way and a like-film way. The more I find my place in the wedding industry, the more I connect with couples who want both a timeless edit and an artistic edit-- and I think that's ultimately what Janelle and Ro's wedding gallery embodies.
